Afri-Link | Berudep Sponsor an Orphan ProjectAfri-link is a registered Scottish charity which helps and supports African grassroot charities. Afri-link currently works in Cameroon with Berudep (Belo Rural Development Project). Afri-link’s primary focus is on supporting and developing the Berudep Sponsor an Orphan Project which provides essential medical care, education, food supplements to combat malnutrition and clothing for orphans in NW Cameroon.
The Berudep Sponsor an Orphan project currently has 54 orphans who are supported by outside sponsors. This project is designed so that 100% of sponsorship money is spent on the child without any money being lost along the way on bank fees or admin fees.
Our Orphan Project Newsletter for December '09 is now available, click here to download | | Perth Based Earlier this year an Afri-link volunteer spent 5 months in Cameroon working to increase the capacity of the After School Education Programme (ASEP) which is run by the Berudep Sponsor an Orphan Project. This included writing a grant proposal and fundraising to build 2 classrooms for the project, buying the land and building materials, managing the building project and of course getting his hands dirty and lugging bricks around the site!
The long term goal of Afri-link is to be able to assist and develop non profit organisations in Africa who do not have the resources , status, communications, or necessary skills to carry out activities such as grant research, fundraising, volunteer recruitment, proposal writing, banking, accounting, transparency policy and project management.
